Piling
Piling is the core of what we do at Millent Civil Works. As a family-owned Sydney piling contractor, we design and construct bored, CFA, secant, cased and sheet piles for residential, commercial, industrial and rail projects across Sydney and NSW, from tight-access residential sites to high-rise foundations and major infrastructure works.
Every site is different, so we match the method to the ground conditions, load requirements and access constraints rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all approach. Bored and CFA piles handle most foundation work, while secant and sheet piling provide ground retention and groundwater control for deep basements and shoring in built-up areas.
Our in-house piling design and full design-and-construct capability let us optimise the solution to the site and the budget, and our fleet of limited-access and restricted-headroom rigs means we can work on constrained sites where standard machines can’t operate. Every job is backed by pile integrity testing, smart data monitoring and independent set-out checks from our in-house surveyor.
CAPPING BEAM
A capping beam is the reinforced concrete element cast along the top of a piled wall, tying every pile into one structure so the wall shares load rather than passing it into individual piles. It carries the reaction from the top row of anchors, walers or props, and it gives the basement structure above a straight, level line to be set out from.
We build capping beams to secant, contiguous and soldier pile walls, on our own shoring and on designs prepared by others. Pile trimming, reinforcement, formwork and the pour all sit with our crews, so the beam does not become a handover between the piling subcontractor and someone else.
Anchoring
Anchoring is a structural element of the shoring works that demands precision. Every anchor is stressed and tested to the project specification, and we carry out the same testing on shoring designs prepared by others.

Shotcrete
Shotcrete is a method of applying concrete projected at high velocity primarily on to a vertical or overhead surface. The impact created by the application consolidates the concrete.
Shotcrete is used to reinforce both temporary and permanent excavations. It stabilizes excavation for an underground parking structure or hi-rise buildings during construction.
Excavation
Millent Civil Works delivers bulk and detailed excavation on basements, shored sites and infrastructure projects. Because we install the piling and anchoring ourselves, the dig is sequenced against the retention system instead of handed between trades.
